Welcome to Shadow Archive
This page is a collection of my many interests, graphics I've made, fun facts, and much more.
Bit by bit, this site will grow to hold more as I get the time and inspiration to work on it.
Someday, there will be all sorts of surprises waiting for you here if you seek them out.
There isn't much to see yet, but why not look around?
This may disappear one day. Or, I'll leave it behind for people to see. We'll see.
Who is it?
I'm Zex/Archive/Whatever you'd like to call me. I use it/its, and I'm 26 as of writing this.
What is it?
This is a site deticated to my interests, as well as a sort of playground/arts and crafts project for me.
Not too important, not too unimportant.
Why is it?
I wanted a more private place to make my own, lacking those expectations that made social media as a whole feel so daunting.
I can make this look how I want, change it, show it off or hide it away at will.
There's a feeling of freedom and agency to this I was missing before. I think that's the appeal.
Why is it an 'it'?
You're getting off topic.

SAMPLE
This is a sample for the contents of the pages. This is a sample format for the page contents.
For instance, this page will have things like my favorite Pokemon and type.
It'll probably be best if I account for images too.
Will I need to make a sticker sheet in here...? God I hope not.
OVERVIEW
Like many entries in this section, this is a much less composed, much more ramble-y segment. Don't expect very deep, riveting commentary here. (...Or anywhere on this site, really.)
Really, this is an excuse to gush about these little guys... I love them so much.
MINECRAFT HORROR MODS???
Yes, really, that's what this is about.
I've been playing Minecraft since at least Infdev, though I'm not in the 'fandom' for the game or the channels who play it. Recently, I've have been playing mods more and more often.
Usually, it's been mods that add more robust cooking systems, farming, RPG elements, things for friends and I to screw around with. Nothing too wild, nothing scary.
But, a few horror mods have wormed their way into my rotation of mods and packs.
They're cute, I really enjoy those more 'liminal' horror mods. I've always been a big fan of empty, dimly-lit, colorful open spaces. Maybe it's a sensory thing.
The mobs in them, usually called 'entities', are likewise pretty cute!
ETHEREAL DEMON
This little guy is from the mod 'wonderland.jar', a mod in a style I tend to call 'sightseeing mods', where there's
all these different dimensions to run around in, or just, well, sightsee. The Etheral Demon spawns in all sorts of places, I first saw it in the Nether while hunting down a fortress.
It had struggled with pathfinding to me, getting stuck on its way to the 'tree' I was on top of. It was shaking, jumping up and down like a pet who really wanted picked up.
That was quite a first impression! I couldn't help but get endeared to it, especially after learning from the wiki that they're young demons.
Young, as in just little baby demons who, seemingly, are a little bit clumsy and excitable. When there's several of them around, they look like puppies tripping over one another. Aww...
FARAWAY
Faraway is from the mod 'The Broken Script', less sightseeing and more game-melting haunting-like shennanigans. It's not the kind of thing I tend to like, but this mod is pretty great!
(I do wish there was a little more volume control, just a hair more accessibility really. The configs are nice, though!)
It's an odd one, showing up at random in the distance. The glow of its body makes it pretty hard to miss if you're paying any attention. It does tend to despawn whenever it shows up, though.
When you get close, it plays some static and creepy noises, as many things will do in this mod. A shame, I'd love to just hang out with it.
For it apparently being rare, I ended up seeing it constantly when I was playing the mod. It, despite doing next to nothing, kind of felt like... a friend.
It was always around, checking in, coming to see what I was up to.
Sometimes, that's all it takes to win me over, just hanging around.
HEROBRINE
So, you know how I mentioned not being involved in the fandom? It seems to matter a lot here.
I was fairly big onto creepypastas when I was younger, so obviously the very early myths around Herobrine did reach me. That said, nothing past those first myths or sightings really ended up on my radar.
It doesn't help that someone, (still no idea who) had tried to pull pranks on me by pretending to be him. (Or I was haunted, but that's less likely, isn't it?)
I remember doing the little crouch dance to show I wasn't hostile, inviting him to the hot tubs I'd made in my castle (a horribly gaudy obsidian wall covered diamond castle, yes I was young), even making him his own bedroom.
They humored me, so the boogeyman-esuqe Herobrine, to a much younger me, had become my friend.
Nowadays, 'From The Fog' has sort of filled that void the 'prank' left in my worlds when it fizzled out.
It's a must-have mod in any pack I make.
